Power
supply issues when overclock your Athlon on K7M:
You may get problems in overclocking your Athlon
if you have small power supply unit !!!
There's a big label on your ASUS mainboard manual to use at least a
235W supply,
but several pages later there is an other comment to use only above
250W - hmmm.
It's not a big difference between these values but it may be enough
to get an instable Windows !
If you recall my last report about overclock Athlon 500 you saw my testboard
at 850 MHz.
A few days later i've tried to put this board into my PC, but the result
was a crashing Windows.
I'd disconnected all other devices except my mainboard, cpu, one memory
module, grapiccard, hdd and
my results are much better. My Athlon runs fine at 850 MHz without any
crashes !
So i've decided to order a good 350W power supply unit to get better
results and the problem was solved.
Think about this if you have problems to get your Athlon system to higher
frequency !!!
