Sapphire IPC-AM3DD785G Socket AM3 DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard Review
The Sapphire IPC-AM3DD785G is the first Mini ITX motherboard for AMD Socket AM3 processors tested at ocinside.de.
Thanks to the small form factor, Mini ITX motherboards are excellently suitable for mediaplayer, NetTop PCs, or industrial PCs.
The AMD 785G chipset is already recommended in some ocinside.de reviews and offers with its onBoard graphics unit a good basis to build such a system.
However, on these systems overclocking is less important than a low current consumption.
So the current review of the Sapphire IPC-AM3DD785G motherboard not only shows overclocking results, but particularly the current consumption and the capability in small systems.

Interactive AMD Phenom product ID guide v1.1
A so called product ID or OPN description is on each AMD Phenom, Phenom II and Athlon II CPU, but the product ID is not really easy to understand without studying several datasheets.
On the new AMD Phenom product ID guide v1.1 simply select the description of your processor
over the drop-down fields or type it directly into the new OPN field.
Then you will see the technical data and processor description below in the virtual CPU.
The service is of course free available over the web and it is also possible to control
this interactive guide directly with OPN data over online shops, forums, or web pages.

ASRock 890GM Pro3 AMD Socket AM3 DDR3 Motherboard Review
A few weeks ago, the ASRock 890GX Extreme3 motherboard was tested at ocinside.de and the result was excellent with the updated BIOS version.
In this review, an equivalent Micro ATX board with 890GX chipset is overclocked to the limit.
This mATX motherboard has also integrated USB3.0, SATA3 and eSATA3, as well as the fast onBoard HD4290 GPU with sideport memory.
Let us see, if this small 890GM Pro3 mATX motherboard can keep up with the large 890GX Extreme3 ATX board.

Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 1TB SATA2 HDS721010CLA332 HDD Review
This review is not about an SSD, but about the current Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 1TB HDD with a very good cost-performance ratio.
Sure, many PC or Mac owners save already their money for a fast Solid State Drive, however the price difference between HDD and SSD with the same capacity is so enormously high, that most SSD buyers will need an additional hard disk drive for their PC or Mac.
Let us have a closer look at the results of the Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 1TB SATA2 drive with 7200 rpm and 32 MB cache and let us compare them with some benchmark programs.

Intel Unlock Overclock Mission
Last week the Redaktion ocinside.de got a request, if we are interested in an unique Intel Unlock Overclock Mission.
Intel Unlock Overclock Mission?
That sounds a bit unreliable, but after a few mails it was almost clear what we are talking about and of course ocinside.de like to participate in any Unlock or Overclock topic.
Thus we agreed without further ado and a few days later came a large package from the United States. The Intel Unlock Overclock report shows what it is about. Without betraying too much - at the end of the mission, there will be a big surprise for the visitors.

OCZ Agility 120GB SATA2 OCZSSD2-1AGT120G SSD Review
Who like to upgrade or build a new PC, will think about buying an SSD, at least during the first purchase consideration.
However in the price comparison one realizes that the price of a Solid State Drive is much higher than the price of a conventional Hard Disk Drive with the same capacity.
Nevertheless, the prices of SSDs are getting lower, and who like to get an overclocked PC much faster, will already find some interesting drives in the lower price segment.
This review is about the OCZ Agility 120GB SATA2 SSD.

ASRock 890GX Extreme3 with BIOS Version P1.80 Review Update
It took less than 24 hours, until ASRock published a new BIOS version after our ASRock 890GX Extreme3 review.

Currently, there is officially the BIOS version P1.80 available for download and this BIOS is a reason to test the motherboard once again with this BIOS.

Crucial Ballistix 4GB Kit DDR3-1600 CL8 BL2KIT25664BN1608 Memory Review
After the recently tested DDR3 Triple Channel memory kit without heatspreader, a new ocinside.de review of a Dual Channel kit with heatsink and higher clock rates is now published.
The Crucial Ballistix PC3-12800 CL8 4GB DDR3 RAM kit contains two 2GB modules, which just needs a little voltage increasement to operate at DDR3-1600 CL8.
In the current review we will see, how far the memory modules can be overclocked and how the kit performs against other memory modules.

ASRock 890GX Extreme3 AMD Socket AM3 DDR3 Motherboard Review
The ASRock 890GX Extreme3 socket AM3 DDR3 motherboard supports USB 3.0, SATA3 and eSATA3 drives. It is based on the AMD 890GX chipset with SB850 southbridge and offers a fast integrated HD4290 GPU with sideport memory.
The performance and the basic equipment of this high-end ASRock motherboard is really amazing, and it is very interesting to see how easy this platform can be overclocked.

Crucial 3GB Kit DDR3-1333/PC3-10600 CT3KIT12864BA1339 Memory Review
Triple Channel memory kits are a good investment for Intel Core i7 systems.
However, the test system for DDR3 memory modules is based on an AMD Phenom II processor and supports only the Dual Channel mode.
We have some nice Triple Channel kits for the 10 years ocinside.de April 2010 drawing, so it is obvious to test them on the AMD system with three modules, two modules and one module.
Let us have a look, how high the Crucial 3GB PC3-10600 Triple Channel DDR3 kit can be overclocked and if a purchase of the inexpensive Crucial 3x 1GB DDR3-1333 kit can be worthwhile also for an AMD Dual Channel system.

Crucial 8GB Kit DDR3-1333/PC3-10600 CT2KIT51264BA1339 Memory Review
These new Crucial 4GB UDIMM DDR3 modules were announced recently and each module has 4GB per module instead of the so far usual 2GB per module.
This capacity makes an enormously high memory upgrade possible for current High-End systems, because with e.g. 4x 4 GB modules it is possible to reach gigantic 16GB DDR3 RAM. This is fantastic for developer of 3D animations and graphic designer, but also for all other power users with a 64 bit operating system.
Two of these new Crucial PC3-10600 4GB UDIMM modules were tested as 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 kit in an AMD socket AM3 system, compared with some other RAM kits and overclocked to the maximum limit.

ASRock ION330HT-BD Blu Ray HTPC Review
ASRock already published different NetTop systems since the previous CeBIT.
Now approximately one year passed and their PCs were constantly extended by faster and more power saving NetTop PCs with various connections by ASRock made Mini-ITX motherboards. After many HTPC building guides in the ocinside.de modding area and the recent DVR player review, it is time to test one of ASRock's top NetTop systems, the ASRock ION330HT Blu-ray PC. This Review concerns first the hardware of this energy-saving Intel Atom 330 Dual Core system.
The ASRock ION330HT-BD system is also an excellent HTPC media player, thanks to an integrated Bluray player, remote control unit, HDMI output and Full HD 1080p support. An extra HTPC software guide will be published as well. Meanwhile the system was tested for several weeks and installed with several Linux and Windows operating systems. The work was worthwhile, because ASRock exceeded all expectations with this small all-around talent!
