After many HTPC building guidances in the ocinside.de modding area and the recent DVR player review it is time to test one of ASRock's top NetTop systems, the ASRock ION330HT Blu-ray PC. This Review concerns first the hardware of this energy-saving Intel Atom 330 Dual Core system. The ASRock ION330HT-BD system is thanks to integrated Bluray player, remote control unit, HDMI output and Full HD 1080p support also an excellent HTPC media player, an extra HTPC software guidance will be published additionally. The review contains the performance of these modules and of course also the overclockability, which is compared with some other memory modules. Memory modules without heat spreader are often not very well overclockable, because usually the module voltage has to be increased, in order to reach high overclocking results. That inevitably produce a higher heat dissipation, which should be exhausted with memory heatsinks. However, in the previous memory review Crucial showed with their RAM kit without heatspreader that one can also achieve good OC results without voltage increasement. This M3A785GXH board is nearly identical in construction to the M3A790GXH. But it is based on the AMD 785G chipset with SB710 southbridge and not on the AMD 790GX chipset with SB750 southbridge. The current M3A785GXH/128M mainboard costs approximately 10-15 euros less in online shops, although it offers an almost identical basic equipment. In the test report we will see if one should save the money, how high it is overclockable, if the AMD 785G can keep up with the very fast AMD 790GX chipset and where the differences are between the AMD 7xx chipsets. Thanks to 3-Way CrossFireX support they can be equipped at the same time with three video cards. Both motherboards have approximately the same price and thanks to the fast onBoard HD3300 graphics unit with integrated 128 MB sideport memory the board offers also without additional video card a high performance.
