ASRock B850 Rock WiFi 7 Motherboard Review

BIOS …

The latest BIOS available at the time of testing was already installed on the B850 Rock Board out of the box. Both the CPU and the two 32GB DDR5 modules were recognized immediately without any issues. Additionally, the memory was automatically set to the maximum allowed speed of 5200MT/s for Ryzen 7000 processors. Higher clock speeds fall into the overclocking range and must be tested by the user for stability.

In addition to a convenient search function and support for multiple languages, there is now also an Easy Mode, which clearly summarizes the most important information and settings on a single page.

The B850 Rock WiFi motherboard provides users with all the overclocking options supported by AMD. This naturally includes a comprehensive configuration menu for adjusting all parameters related to the RAM. RAM overclocking is simplified thanks to support for EXPO and XMP profiles. Using Precision Boost Overdrive, the processor speed can be increased while simultaneously reducing power consumption through voltage reduction. Despite being positioned in the entry-level segment, the B850 Rock WiFi 7 offers every option for extracting the highest possible performance from the processor, RAM, and graphics card. Likewise, our PCIe 5.0 SSD runs at full speed without restriction on the new Rock board.

Overclocking …

Even though the AMD Ryzen 5 7500 processor isn’t the top choice for overclockers, we were still able to squeeze an additional 3.9% performance out of it using Precision Boost Overdrive, achieving 14,661 points in the Cinebench R23 multicore benchmark, up from 14,117 points previously.
