The NZXT N7 B850 motherboard looks fantastic even without RGB lighting. The design of the VRM coolers, combined with the plastic covers on the M.2 slots, creates a sleek overall look that’s truly one-of-a-kind!
In particular, pairing it with black RAM modules—as we did in our test—creates a beautiful, cohesive look that’s second to none. On top of that, all the components are exceptionally well-built, which further reinforces the impression of high quality. However, this visual elegance comes at a price: at around 300 Euro, the motherboard falls into the higher price range.
Otherwise, the N7 B850 offers a solid set of features, including a 2.5 Gb/s network connection, Wi-Fi 6E, plenty of fan connectors, and three M.2 slots. However, one of the M.2 slots limits the SSD’s maximum speed by at least 50%, and in some areas, NZXT could pay a little more attention to user-friendliness—we sorely miss a convenient release lever for the graphics card slot on the N7 B850, and the quick-release clips on the M.2 SSDs don’t always hold the SSD securely in place.
Within the NZXT ecosystem, the N7 B850 reaches its full potential when used with NZXT accessories and controlled via the NZXT CAM software. This allows, for example, fans to be controlled based on graphics card temperature and LEDs to be controlled based on CPU temperature.
For users who place a high value on visual appeal, the NZXT N7 B850 motherboard is definitely worth considering!
