NZXT Function Elite MiniTKL Review

Layout, design and features …

On the outside, the keyboard initially appears simple in terms of color and design; the higher standards are found in the details. For example, the base is made of aluminum and gives the body a significant overall weight.

On the inside, the keyboard has the aforementioned foam for insulation and a circuit board reinforced with tape. Like many manufacturers, NZXT offers a dedicated button, which is located on the right-hand side under Remove.

The front features indentations that depict the manufacturer’s logo. In keeping with the compact design, the manufacturer does not include a palm rest.

The rear view is particularly pleasing: Not only do the fine nubs in combination with the weight prevent the keyboard from slipping, the look also complements the NZXT Lift Elite Wireless Mouse perfectly.

Some brands end up buying their products from several Chinese ODMs, which sometimes makes it difficult for them to enforce uniform designs. This is definitely not the case here!

With a length of just under 13.3 cm, the model is not one of the shortest bolides in the range without a numpad (TKL), where there is still a class up to 10 cm.

At least NZXT offers its own switch here and doesn’t have to assign buttons twice (press, roll, pause). The competition for the shortest length therefore makes little sense.
