The Ugreen FineCam Pro 4K Webcam is small, compact, and well-built. The image quality is good. The camera performs well even in low-light conditions.
The gesture control is well implemented, works reliably, and helps during active presentations because it doesn’t interrupt the flow of speech. Especially when used in conjunction with the camera’s portrait mode, it offers significantly more possibilities than a traditional webcam. The autofocus also does a good job, even at varying distances from the camera.
However, the image settings via the dial are more of a nice gimmick, as they don’t really help in everyday use. It would be better if you could adjust the image parameters directly through an optional app. Even the “natural” mode had a bit too much color saturation in our tests and was a little too “red.”
The audio quality is okay, but not outstanding. There are two microphones, but they’re arranged one above the other rather than side by side (except in portrait mode). The manufacturer also doesn’t specify whether any special processing of the audio data (such as directional detection) takes place, aside from the AI noise cancellation. That works reasonably well and suppresses background noise – such as typing on a keyboard – quite effectively.
