At this time the Athlon is the best overclockable CPU. But why is it possible to overclock this CPU so easy ? 99% of the Athlon core is much higher than labeled outside, my two first Athlon 500 have 650 cores inside. If you compare the price of the Athlon 500 and 650 Athlon it’s unbelievable what AMD put inside their CPUs. We don’t know the exact reason why AMD gives their customers this joy. One reason may be that they have higher CPUs which doesn’t run stable at these values without increasing the Vcore. An other reason might be they want to keep the production of lower Processors as small as possible to prevent outdated CPUs around the stock.
Fact is in any case that we can well overclock them and that’s most important. To discover which core is really in the processor it’s necessary to open the case with skill, intuitive feeling and also (at the right lower attachment bar) by force.
