Summary and overall impression …
The Ballistix Tactical 8GB DDR4-2666 BLT8G4D26BFT4K memory modules offer excellent overall capacity, achieve very good benchmark values via the given timings and enable great RGB effects by the individually controllable LEDs.
Whether the Ballistix Tactical Tracer RGB modules are really faster than the opponent is given, but the speed stored in the XMP 2.0 profile is quite respectable. Thanks to the heat spreader, overclocking with increased voltage is no problem. However, even with 1.35 volts we could not achieve very high OC results. Also, on today’s launch day the software was not yet 100% executable at least on our test systems, but we will deliver some updates as soon as the new DDR4 Ballistix M.O.D. version is ready.
Edit: Micron could already provide us with an error-free MOD version and so this test was extended by the missing screenshots. Additionally there is now on our OCinside YouTube Channel even a Video Tutorial to the Ballistix MOD software with all RGB effects!
All in all, the Ballistix Tactical Tracer RGB PC4-21300 CL16 modules have already achieved excellent benchmark values and the RGB effects have given our test system a new shine. In addition, there are almost no limits to the individuality with a 3D printer and a few RGB components that are matched to each other.
