Introduction – A NAS for Beginners …

Ugreen itself markets the DH2300 as an affordable device for beginners and as a replacement for a home cloud solution. The concept is simple. A compact enclosure with space for two 3.5-inch hard drives, each with a capacity of up to 30TB, a 1Gbps network port, and a USB connection. The software used is UGOS, which we’ve already covered in our other Ugreen reviews.

This is included in the delivery package …

Since we ordered the DH2300 along with two hard drives, everything was delivered in one large package, which contained the NAS in its own box and the hard drives in a separate box.

Let’s start by unpacking the hard drives.

These are contained in a black cardboard box and are packed to protect against impact.

The NAS itself comes in a plain cardboard box, …

on which technical specifications and additional information are printed on various pages.

When unpacking, it’s nice to see that they’ve used as much cardboard as possible and less plastic as packing material.

However, the NAS itself is wrapped in a plastic sleeve to protect its surface.

A small cardboard box contains the power supply, a network cable, a few screws, and a screwdriver for installing the hard drives. The power supply is external and delivers 12V at a maximum of 4.2 amps (50W).

Of course, the quick start guide is a must-have.

Let’s start by looking at the technical details.
