The ExpressCage is suitable for use in the private home server sector as well as in (semi-)professional applications such as video editing or server operation, as the Icy Dock MB038SP-B offers a reliable and functional solution for installing multiple drives with high data density in a single 5.25-inch drive bay to save space.
One small point of criticism concerns the attachment of the drives to the drive carrier with four screws each, instead of using the tried and tested EZ trays. Icy Dock has already shown with other trays that it is possible to reduce the number of screws to two, which was unfortunately not implemented this time.
All in all, the tested Icy Dock ExpressCage MB038SP-B removable rack is a solid expansion option for storage in limited space and therefore delivers what it promises!
