Installing the card was easy. What we noticed when removing the card, however, was that it was difficult to open the PCI slot lock due to the large cooler. In addition, the card sits well in the slot and takes up space in the housing.
Everyone should have heard of the 12V HPWR connection problem by now. This is often due to poor/high contact resistance between the card and the plug. This occurs when the contacts cannot make a good connection, either because they are not properly seated in the connector or because bending the connector or cable does not result in a good connection. For this reason, care should be taken during installation not to bend the cable too much or to allow any tension to act on the plug. It is also advisable to regularly check that the plug is securely seated.
After installing the latest NVIDIA graphics card drivers, the MSI Afterburner and the new version of GPU-Z, we take the opportunity to check the correct card settings. Almost everything looks good – except for one setting. This is the Resizable Bar function, which allows the CPU to access the graphics card’s video memory directly, which can result in a performance increase of up to 20% more FPS.
