DVB-T Stick SDR Guide

Conclusion of the SDR-Receiver …

Many bands such as VHF, HF, MW and various weather satellites / balloons are of course open to the public. This DVB-T Stick however, is capable to receive frequencies which interception in Germany is prohibited, such as official Radio authorities and emergency services, as well as the ACARS System transmitting aircraft telemetry. The german radio Agency provides a list of legal receiving radio frequencies:Bundesnetzagentur Frequenzplan

We hereby expressly distance ourselves from illegal eavesdropping frequencies !!!

It is in the SDR Guide stated trick merely just a possibility, to use the old DVB-T Stick again, and to find the entry into the wireless technology and maybe Home Amateur Radio, which is a very interesting area.

One final note concerns the USB stick itself. If you do not have a DVB-T stick and want to buy one because of this review you should be careful. Some dealers of a large “online marketplace” try to sell their Terratec Cinergy RC MK2 sticks as SDR able. However, these have neither the RTL chipset R820T or the E4000 Converter. To get a working stick you should choose one of the chinese models, they only cost about 10 to 20 EUR. In Germany, some models are available, but they are really expensive.
