The delivery of the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X …

The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X is delivered in this stylish box with a viewing window and a view of the processor.

On the back, we find a few technical specifications as well as notes about content, the integrated graphics unit, warranty and possible deviations in the maximum boost clock.

Like a high-priced smartphone or tablet, the packaging was equipped with a hinged lid including a magnetic closure.

The big box of the boxed CPU does not contain a cooler, but only a quick start guide and a small Ryzen 9 sticker next to the CPU. The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X CPU is securely packaged, but when we spoke of a large package in the previous Ryzen 5 7600X review, although no cooler is included, we could only marvel at the Ryzen 9 7950X.

Sure, the boxes have already become collector’s items, but you could easily replace the foam insert with a clever cardboard structure and still have a collectible box.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X that we tested is currently still the most powerful processor of the Ryzen 7000 series with 16 cores. We can’t wait to see the next AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D vs 7950X compared. Apart from it, the smallest AMD Ryzen 5 7600X with 6 cores, the Ryzen 7 7700X with 8 cores, the Ryzen 9 7900X with 12 cores and the cheaper AMD Non-X counterparts were released at CES 2023 (see Hardwarespot.de CPU News). Construction-wise, all four models are the same size and fit into the AM5 socket. They mainly differ in the number of processing cores, the resulting power consumption, among other things, and the cache size. Furthermore, there are different clock rates from 3.70 GHz base clock up to 5.70 GHz Boost.
