ENMIC 8KAX+ & EPOX EP-8K7A VIO & VCORE MOD

Of course, the Vcore of the ENMIC 8KAX+ and the EPOX EP-8K7A mainboard can be increased about +0,4 Volt by the JP 2 Jumpers, but it’s never enough for hardcore overclocker 😉 But the more important option which is missing complete, is the increasement of VIO and VAGP. The VAGP is very useful for any higher graphiccard overclocking and the VIO helps you to reach better FSB overclocking results. Of course it’s necessary to be very careful if you’re soldering … Continue reading ENMIC 8KAX+ & EPOX EP-8K7A VIO & VCORE MOD

Celeron FSB change

How to change Celerons FSB > 66MHz: If it’s not possible to change the FSB of your Celeron to higher frequencies than 66MHz you have to cover up pin B21 with a adhesive tape or nail varnish. Nail varnish have the advantage, because you can easily fit it over the hole pin and use nail varnish remover if you want to undo this. But that’s your choice… It’s easy to locate this pin – over these pins are some small … Continue reading Celeron FSB change

Change Intel Pentium II/III multiplier

Change the Intel Pentium II/III multiplier: I think you’re waiting for the solution how to unlock the fixed multiplier. It is not impossible to change the multiplier but it’s really hard work, because the main problem is to insert a curcuit between RESET#, IGNNE#, A20M#, LINT0 and LINT1 without jamming the signals. It seems to be impossible but you may have a look how remarkers do it. See here for more information. The links i made to some great articles … Continue reading Change Intel Pentium II/III multiplier

ENMIC 8TCX+ und EPOX 8KHA VCORE MOD

It’s easy to increase the Vcore of the ENMIC 8TCX+, ENMIC 8TCX2+ and the EPOX 8KHA mainboards by soldering just one resistor to the right point to allow your CPU much higher frequency with the plus of Vcore. Of course it’s necessary to be very careful if you’re soldering something on your mainboard in order not to kill your board. And of course your warranty void if you solder anything on your mainboard ! Therefore i recommend a good grounding … Continue reading ENMIC 8TCX+ und EPOX 8KHA VCORE MOD

EPOX 8KTA3 VCORE MOD

It’s easy to increase the Vcore of Epox 8KTA3 by soldering just one resistor to the right point to allow your CPU much higher frequency. Of course it’s necessary to be very careful if you’re soldering something on your mainboard in order not to kill your board. And of course your warranty void if you solder anything on your mainboard ! Therefore i recommend a good grounding and a soldering station with seperate grounding ! Before you begin to modify … Continue reading EPOX 8KTA3 VCORE MOD

Intel FSB overclock

General problems when change the FSB: With 🙁 or without fixed multiplier 🙂 overclocking is still possible !!! The most recent problem with fixed multiplier is that you have to change the Front Side Bus frequency. But changing the FSB will result in higher pci, AGP and HDD-Controller frequency !!! I realised the higher controller frequency painful last week on my Asus P3B: My CPU run fine at 124 x 4,5 = 558 MHz, ASUS has two choices to set … Continue reading Intel FSB overclock

MSI K7T Turbo VCORE MOD

It’s also very easy to increase the Vcore of MSI K7T Turbo by soldering just one resistor to the right point to allow your CPU much higher frequency. Of course it’s necessary to be very careful if you’re soldering something on your mainboard in order not to kill your board. And of course your warranty void if you solder anything on your mainboard ! Therefore i recommend a good grounding and a soldering station with seperate grounding ! Before you … Continue reading MSI K7T Turbo VCORE MOD

MSI K7T Pro / Pro 2-A VCORE MOD

It’s very easy to increase the Vcore of MSI K7T Pro and K7T Pro2-A by desoldering or ! soldering one resistor to allow your CPU much higher frequency. Of course it’s necessary to be very careful if you’re soldering something on your mainboard in order not to kill your board. Highest overclocking results with AMD Athlon

Highest overclocking results with Athlon: At this time the Athlon is the best overclockable CPU. But why is it possible to overclock this CPU so easy ? 99% of the Athlon core is much higher than labeled outside, my two first Athlon 500 have 650 cores inside. If you compare the price of the Athlon 500 and 650 Athlon it’s unbelievable what AMD put inside their CPUs. We don’t know the exact reason why AMD gives their customers this joy. … Continue reading Highest overclocking results with AMD Athlon

Just another way of cooling :-)

You don’t see this each day but i think it’s worth to spend a view 🙂 Here’s a mainboard in oil: Here’s no place for pizza: One 12cm pipe sucks cool air from outside and another one is blowing outside: If you’ve a funny PC please mail me your photo. Discuss in our forum …

Intel Pentium 3 FSB change to overclock

How to change Pentium III FSB above 100MHz: If you can’t change the FSB of your mainboard but wan’t to overclock this CPU with 133 MHz FSB you have to cover up pin A14 with a adhesive tape or nail varnish to pretend an 133MHz CPU. It’s easy to locate this pin – over these pins are some small numbers like A1, A73, A74, A121. just count from the left Pin on the frontside 14 steps to the right pin. … Continue reading Intel Pentium 3 FSB change to overclock

Calculate the p-rating of an AMD Athlon XP CPU

It should be known that an AMD Athlon XP 1600+ CPU doesn’t run with 1600 MHz … by default 😉 but who likes to calculate all the P-ratings ? From now on it’s unnecessary to search for the right one, or set a wrong CPU frequency, because i’ve published a new very easy to use interactive P-Rating calculator. Just type in the P-Rating or the CPU frequency and you’ll get the result.

Power supply issues if you overclock your Athlon on eg. ASUS K7M

Power supply issues when overclock your Athlon on K7M: You may get problems in overclocking your Athlon if you have small power supply unit !!! There’s a big label on your ASUS mainboard manual to use at least a 235W supply, but several pages later there is an other comment to use only above 250W – hmmm. It’s not a big difference between these values but it may be enough to get an instable Windows ! If you recall my … Continue reading Power supply issues if you overclock your Athlon on eg. ASUS K7M

Step by step guide how to cut and paint the Athlon XP / Morgan bridges

Step by step guide how to cut and paint the AMD Athlon XP, Morgan, T-Bred,etc bridges: If you’ve already looked at the AMD Athlon XP Processor or at the XP painting guide, you’ve noticed that the OPGA (Organic Pin Grid Array) CPU isn’t a ceramic CPU. Cut the bridges: Because of the softer ground it’s much easier to cut these bridges and unlike the older ceramic CPU’s you don’t need to spend lot’s of time on this modification. Usually you … Continue reading Step by step guide how to cut and paint the Athlon XP / Morgan bridges
